The Ether, pt 1
10:13
|
|
||
God is no interventionist, that's a mistake
God's only work is chaos
There is an order here - but God has no hand in it
God has no hands anyway
This is some spiraling out viewed from far away...
Reveals what we were afraid of...
It reveals structure
That of an atom at play
At play without purpose
God is no interventionist
God's body and soul is pure untampered chaos
And there is an order here:
Humanity looking upward into the ass of another
Humanity looking upward into the ass of a larger physical body
It can't even see...
humanity looking into infinity
A telescope drawn and pointing into the same eye's retina
Sun burning in nucleus
Planets merely protons
Humanity singing a song
Meant to lull a soul...
God’s only purpose is directional
A code meant for organizing the true order of chaos...
This is order advancing
Domination
Ridicule destruction of the sentimental poets...
Some believing, screaming, benignly roaring as an audience
A signpost without direction pointing anywhere into the sky with faith
Singing still a nonsensical, child's limerick
Chaos in expansion
God knows where it goes
Let the record reflect
We had it down
We understood it
Message received
Bright and clear

You've had a long lovely day
But the sun's a blister in the western sky
In the golden fields of the lord you've played
You've never been worthy of the sun anyway
But you and me we're sewn together at the soul
Your thirst is a desert and my heart is a hole
Welcome home, my sweetest friend
All along, it's been you and I
It will always be us, until the end
It will be us until the day we die
You can carve away your skin
But you will never cut me out
When you think you've found your true love
I'll be there to let you down
At night, in the mirror, you'll see my face
When you open your mouth, you'll speak my name
I am the chaos you cannot tame
Your fear and desire are one and the same
But you and me we're sewn together at the soul
Your thirst is a desert and my heart is a hole
Take this kiss, my sweetest friend
All along, it's been you and I
It will always be us, until the end
You're stuck with me until the day that we die

These fingers, here on your knees
Feel them pushing them apart
This tongue drinking in your sweat
Its sucking at the heat from your heart
I've been caught on the details of your construction
Your blood guts and bones and little clumps of hair
And the lips that swallow the name of god
But couldn't shake the matter rendered there
I can feel it beating
When I test its depth
But the blood that flows
From it is death
This spine, written for the language of creation
And this tongue wrote for those lips
This is the lock of the human revolution
An orchid drawn from your hip
My fear was given the right to reason
As above then so below
Your charms cut with purpose
Into your flesh... I go
I can taste you bleeding
When I lick the wet
And I know there's a shining
Here in this bed

And as the moon began to slide
Into the deep blue embrace of morning
I felt a certain inclination calling
It's pleas so much like song
There was a scent in the spring breeze
The drapes sailing on its breath
It was the sort that whispers confidence
The sort that conspires to our death
I spied her in the garden where
She hung her laundry on the breeze
White cottons that said surrender
In a voice one could not ignore
She caught me where I hid
And she called me to come near
As I did her dress fell open
In the breeze that brought me here
Her capture was quick and cool
And success was just as mortal
Soon I felt an aching in my chest
The type of one descending
Impaled on the pyre of irony
Now the reapings of that I'd sown
A tool of desire, I am but this
Drawn to the light, there I go

The Ether, pt 2
06:10
|

We meet in a forum of frightened eyes
Under harvest moon and watching skies
An animal of control but not so tame
I know who you are but not your name
Through a sea of tiny icelike stars
Voices beyond our vision open scars
Some predator tenses with skin undone
Foot forward, foot forward, foot forward run
Running on raped land our legs give way
We collapse to our knees, prey for the day
Over shoulders eyes wide and begging
The singing voices on our backs methodically digging
The voice is mine and eyes mine thus
And I know that we are me as I am us
It's my own hand that's pulling my fall
Hand forward, foot forward, foot forward crawl
Heaven's keys held tight in hand
I dropped them to the desperate land
If I could return there I just might
Reclaim the soul I left that night
And in the end we know
The greatest challenge is accepting contentment
But will we be as articulate
When expressing our pleasures
As when we speak our pain?

Everything I Am Is a Lie
04:31

And then he awoke
From the dreams that left him still
He was left alone
Just the way he'd always been
And he was staring
Into his mirror window
Caught like an insect
Just the way he'd always be
You want them
You need them
Those ones you can't control
Those sirens
They're calling
Their hair wrapped 'round your soul
And what have you left?
How much further can you go?
Soon you'll pay the price
For your lack of vision
But you'll have your way
You'll have it as you like it
Time will take its toll
Just as it always has
You want them
You need them
Those ones you can't control
Those sirens
They're calling
Their hair wrapped 'round your soul
The ending
It's coming
This time it's do or die
It's time that
I faced it
Everything I am is a lie
I would do it again
I will do it again
I'm gonna do it again
I'm gonna do it again

These Former Things
06:31
|
|
||
Who is this woman here?
This woman laid across my bed...
Her sex is exposed
And the will to live is dead
She says she's come
To fall me on my own sin
She's the strength
To all the weakness I've been
And here I am
Somewhere between violence and tears
Merely the sum
The product of some twenty six years
But there isn't room
For me and my self-pitiful soul
It's time for me
To pack it up and let it all go
So with a kiss
There's a clamor at the door
And with a kiss
My wings fallen to the floor
Lay here Lilith
I won't keep time long for you
There's a world
I'd like to say my goodbyes to
The furthest west I ever walked
These thick doors I always locked
These bright lights still left on
This short note that says I've gone
This former name, my former foe
This former self I no longer know
This rusty coil's redundant soul
These former things - I let them go
The furthest west I ever walked
These thick doors I always locked
These bright lights still left on
This short note that says I've gone
This former name, my former foe
This former self I no longer know
This rusty coil's redundant soul
These former things - I've all let go...
